, Uvwie and Environs Special Area Development Agency , Hon.  Prince Godwin Ejinyere has assured members of OSU Governorship Movement of his readiness to support the group to ensure its sustainability. 

The DG gave this assurance when members of OSU Governorship Movement paid him a courtesy visit at his office in Warri on Tuesday 14th May 2024. He commended members of   the group for their immeasurable effort at advocating for the zoning of the governorship seat to OSU federal constituency. 

According to him,  "I am aware of the individual and collective sacrifices so many of you made in the build up to the governorship elections.

I have heard your message and I am ready to make representation on your behalf to the governor. I will do what is within my power to support you while waiting for His Excellency, the governor of Delta State to respond to your request. 

His Excellency, has done very well within the period he came into office. By May 29th, you will see that a lot of projects that will impact directly into the lives of the generality of the people will be inaugurated. The ongoing fly over project is going to benefit every body in Delta State because people from all parts of the state make use of that road and the round about. 

I had to leave my ward where the process of electing  candidates for local government elections was ongoing to attend to you people because I value people a lot irrespective your status.

Every body is equal before the Lord. As a political leader, I must give attention to every body. I want to appeal to you all to be a little bit patient with us to allow us settle down. I will reach out to you people and equally take your message to the governor. 

Earlier, the national coordinator of the group Amb. Ese Sanco who spoke through the publicity secretary Edwin  Ekaregha had appealed to the DG to support the group and equally make representation to the governor on behalf of the group. He noted that OSU agitators made a lot of sacrifices between 2019 and 2023 when His Excellency emerge as governor of Delta State. In his words " OSU Governorship Movement is the group that started the campaign/ advocacy for a governor from OSU federal constituency.

We are aware that the governor has done so well in empowering a lot of people in our federal constituency , we are appealing to the governor to look into our matter with a view to granting our request.

We have written several letters to the governor conveying our request to him . It is our hope that your support and timely intervention will help us achieve the desired result. "

On his part, Comrade Sanco Ovie noted that Hon. Prince Godwin Ejinyere is one of the best local government chairmen in the history of Okpe local government. He described the DG as a man of impeccable character who is an embodiment of hard work, humility, accessibility, unparallel integrity with an all time readiness to render selfless services to the generality of our people. He thanked the DG for creating time out of his tight schedule to meet with the group. He described the DG as a man with the heart of gold who is ever ready to listen to the cry of the masses and profer solutions to their problems. 

Finally a vote of thanks was given by Mrs Elizabeth Odiete and the meeting came to an end with a closing prayer said by the Deputy National Coordinator.
