His Royal Majesty, Dr. Emmanuel E. Sideso, Abe 1, the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom has promised to collaborate with the Orodje Okpe in ensuring sustainable development in OSU federal constituency. 


The monarch gave this assurance when members of OSU Governorship Movement paid him a courtesy visit in his palace at Effurun GRA on 30th June 2023. He noted that Okpe and Uvwie are one people and  the traditional rulers leading Okpe , Sapele and Uvwie are himself and the Orodje of Okpe. 


While expressing joy over the success of the OSU agitation which was started in 2019 by members of OSU Governorship Movement, the monarch stated that the first phase of the struggle is over and the next phase is sustainable development of OSU federal constituency and economic empowerment of OSU people. 

He acknowledged the fact that OSU people who have been deprived of economic empowerment in the state for long deserve to be properly empowered by this government. 


On his part, the national coordinator of the group , Comrade Ese Sanco expressed gratitude to the Ovie of Uvwie for the support and prayers given to the group in 2019 when the group started the agitation for OSU governor.

He delved into memory lane to x-ray  the high level of marginalisation of OSU people that necessitated the agitation for a governor of OSU extraction. 

In his words " We are here today to thank you for the support, prayers and advise you gave to us in 2019 when we started the agitation for a governor of OSU extraction. 

You will recall that we came here to seek your support and prayers in 2019 which you gave to us and equally advised us on how to go about our agitation. 

As our father, we are expected to report to you from time to time, the steps that we are taking to ensure that there is sustainable development in OSU federal constituency, in addition to economic empowerment for our people.

We have set up a committee made up of technocrats from different parts of the world who are OSU indigenes to prepare the OSU developmental master plan. We are going to submit the report to you and the Orodje of Okpe as soon as the report is ready."


Finally, the monarch offered prayers to the group and enjoin members to expedite action on the report of the OSU developmental action plan as soon as possible .
